The under 13s played their first season of 11 a side football in the BJFL for the 2017/18 season, kicking off at 2pm for their home matches at Mappleton Playing Fields, DE6 2AB

With one match remaining, they have already taken the Division two winners title on 28/01/2018, see match report below:

The Aztecs U13 team sealed their title as BJFL Division 2 Champions with a pulsating and powerful performance at Mappleton on Sunday.

The Tigers are the only team to have defeated the Aztecs so far this season, and from the outset it was clear that the Aztecs had revenge in mind.

They powered at the opposition from the off, winning a string of corners and forcing some smart saves from the Tigers keeper.

There was however nothing he could do when Will Heron unleashed a fierce strike from outside the box into the bottom corner of the net.

Chances kept coming, whilst at the other end Fraser Cooper made a smart save from a rare Tigers attack. The Aztecs needed a second to settle them down, and it came from Logan Cuthbert,

converting when the Tigers failed to clear a Toby Carolan cross. Shortly before half time from another of the many corners, the ball fell to Max Morrison at the far post, and he finished neatly to give the

Aztecs a 3-0 half time cushion. Early in the second half Aztecs playmaker Carolan suffered a painful ankle knock, but he'd already done enough to mean his team mates could finish the job.

Further goals from Zack Bailey, Freddie Murphy (2) and a second from Cuthbert saw the 7-0 final score accurately reflect the extent of the Aztecs dominance.

At the final whistle the squad joyously celebrated their title, and can now look forward to Division 1 football next season.
